Monster 600: 1st registered in January 2001

Garage name: ‘Mrs Snot’

Brought by us in mid February 2005, poor old Mrs Snot looked like she had never had a service in her life!

She had (then!) 18,500 miles on the clock, what looked like a decade amount of dirt over her and had just failed the MOT – although these were ‘minor’ failures like bent bars, bald square tyres & a blown bulb.

Despite going through several ‘morphs’ during the 2005 season from a 583 to 675 and then having the indignity of a 620 implant engine being added, Mrs Snot returned to the track in 2006 in the trim she is today complete with the original 583 engine back in again.

At present the ‘non-standard’ additions are as follows, which are all just about unchanged since her creation as a race bike by AK in spring 2005:

Showa front forks, with Maxton revalving and Ohlins springs

Ohlins rear shock

Modified loop arm

Rear sets from Spareshack

DP revcounter

900ss clip-ons

Venhill quick action throttle

AL 900 relays (added since the return to 583)

Re-jetted carbs

Open airbox

Oil cooler fitted, previously from an M900

MHP full exhaust system made to exit on the left hand side, just like Tango.

916 race fairings and R6 seat pod, all with hand fabricated brackets by AK to fit the 583 frame.

Fairings all painted by Pitstop Paint in late 2005 to match the Tango.
